The villages belonging to the municipality of Fiè allo Sciliar nestle among gentle hills and forests of the plateau extending at the foot of the mighty Sciliar massif
The symbol of South Tyrol, so to speak Mt Sciliar, is also the symbol of the municipality of Fié. Dominating the high-altitude pastures on which the localities San Constantino, Sant'Antonio, Fié di Sotto and Fiè di Sopra, Umes, Aica di Fié and Santa Caterina are located, the mountain massif has already impressed the Romans. In fact they used its highest elevation, the Monte Castello (Burgstall), as cult site. The municipality is only a stone's throw away from Castelrotto and the Alpe di Siusi on the one hand, on the other hand also from Tires and the Catinaccio Group. If you love the Dolomites, it's absolutely the right place to stay.
Beside its alpine surroundings, Fiè allo Sciliar offers a series of further highlights. A varied landscape ranging from the vineyards of the Valle Isarco at 315 m a.s.l. to the main village Fiè di Sotto at 900 m and the dense coniferous forests up to the peaks of the rough Dolomites. It awaits you with a tradition as health resort, in which hay baths have always had an essential role to play, culinary delights, culminating in the gastronomic week "Völser Kuchlkastl", as well as Castel Presule, the beautiful family seat of the Lords of Fiè.
