Benefiting from its sun-drenched position high above the Valle Isarco, the hamlet of Peterbühl is considered to be the most ancient village of the area of Fiè allo Sciliar. Attaching credence to recent findings, already millenniums before Christ people had been occupying this area.
In the centre of the village, in a particularly exposed position, there is the St Peter by the Hill Church. First mentioned at the end of the 14th century, it was restored and adorned with Gothic construction elements at the end of the 15th century. Its beautiful Gothic winged altar and the archaeological findings from the hill are on display at the Parish Museum and Museum of Archeology of Fiè.
