Castel Presule is the most famous building of the homonymous village and is also considered one of the symbols of Fiè allo Sciliar
Presule makes most of the people immediately think of the mighty castle in the area of Fiè allo Sciliar, but Presule is also a small village located directly at the foot of Castel Presule. Inhabited by about 150 people, the hamlet does not only offer the St Nicholas parish church, boasting Romanesque and Gothic elements. Also several historic farms and residences are to be discovered, leaving aside the fact that the undisputed highlight is still Castel Presule. The building is well-known for its impressive collection of arms and as one of the locations for the Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride.
The village located at 830 m a.s.l. is a popular starting point for hikes, e.g. onto Mt Balzo and Mt Cavone. Also the Farm Trail, the so-called "Oachner Höfeweg", starts right in the village, especially popular in spring and autumn. By the way: the beautiful late Gothic winged altar from the St Nicholas Church is on display in the Parish Museum and Museum of Archeology of Fiè.
