Extending at about 900 m a.s.l., the locality of San Costantino consists of several farms spread all over the meadows between Fiè and Siusi allo Sciliar, but also boasts a small but mighty centre that was established round the Saint Constantine Church with its church tower topped by an onion-domed roof. Considered to having been constructed at the beginning of the 13th century, it has been completely redesigned by order of Leonhard von Völs in the course of time.
Today San Costantino is inhabited by about 250 people. The forests and meadows with gentle hills stand in contrast to the rough Sciliar massif on the one hand and the gorges and valleys in the north and west on the other side. This is where the uplands fall away sharply into the Valle Isarco and the gorge of the Rio Freddo. San Costantino is ideal for people who would like to experience the area of the Sciliar and the Alpe di Siusi. Belonging to the municipality of Fiè allo Sciliar, the hamlet is located only a stone's throw from the lower terminus of the Alpe di Siusi Cable Car. Also the Siusi-San Vigilio golf course and several hiking trails in average altitudes are within easy reach.
