The Wuhnleger mountain pasture can be reached in a 60-minute walk from Tires al Catinaccio or a 45-minute walk from the hamlet of San Cipriano. This beautiful spot is located in the heart of the Sciliar-Catinaccio Nature Park and offers an unforgettable view on the Catinaccio Massif.
Toads, salamanders and dragonflies live around and in the water of the Wuhnleger Pond, in which the surrounding mountains are reflected. To shoot brilliant photos, you should wait for the sun set, moment of the "Enrosadira" phenomenon when the rocks of the Catinaccio Massif shine for a short time in beautiful red colours. So if possible, extend your stay on the Wuhnleger mountain pasture until the evening hours.
By the way: the circular tour to the Wuhnleger pasture, starting at the St. Cyprian Chapel, is also a popular winter hike.
