Every year in January Castelrotto celebrates a special event: the traditional country wedding
The authentic reproduction of a historical peasant wedding takes place every year in January. The highlight is the parade. Horse-drawn carriages drive the wedding guests from San Valentino to Castelrotto. The entire wedding party wears historical costumes and jewellery and it is definitely worth seeing. A total of 17 couples together with their parents, grans, uncles and aunts can be admired.
Once they arrive in Castelrotto, the wedding celebration takes place. Farmers cook a traditional and oh-so tasty meal and traditional music creates the right atmosphere. Simply marvellous, and a travel back in time to the 19th century!
