Our starting point is the small village of Sant'Antonio near Fié allo Sciliar, with its big parking space and the bus station. From here, we follow trail no. 14 and later trail no. 13A, which lead us through the forest to the Pond of Fiè, passing another lake, the Gflierer Pond.
After a short rest at the shores of the beautiful Pond of Fié, we follow trail no. 2, which leads us to the hamlet Salego and the valley station of the Alpe di Siusi Cable Car under the foot of the Sciliar massif. After about two hours of comfortable hiking we arrive at the centre of Siusi allo Sciliar. From here, the steep trail no. 7 leads us up to the church of San Valentino, a component locality of the municipality of Castelrotto. It lies embedded in the beautiful meadows above Siusi. Although it is only spring], the sun is quite hot on this treeless section of our tour.
Crossing the main road above the little church, we follow trail no. 7 until we reach the Pest Cross, where we take trail no. 6. Hiking straightly towards Castelrotto, we pass the Marinzen chairlift, from where we reach the beautiful centre of Castelrotto village with its famous steeple in about 10 minutes. From Castelrotto we return to Sant'Antonio, our starting point, by bus.
