A very pleasant circular tour takes us to the small mountain village of Tagusa above the entrance to the Val Gardena

Starting our tour at Tisana, a small village west of Castelrotto, we follow a narrow, asphalted road in the direction of Tagusa, a component locality of the municipality of Castelrotto. This tour is particularly attractive in autumn when the leaves of the deciduous trees turn to brilliant colours. After one hour of walking through a beautiful meadow and wood landscape and enjoying the great panoramic view of the Valle Isarco and the villages of Barbiano and Villandro we reach Tagusa.
The highlights of this very small romantic hamlet are the beautiful church and the School Museum, where we can learn how the everyday school life in one of the smallest villages of South Tyrol once was.
After this very interesting time travel we continue our tour on trail no. 2A. On a gravel path through a shady wood we reach the Tamines Farm, where we have a little rest before we turn into a narrow trail, which runs first down the Brembach valley and than up again, leading us to the village of Castelrotto (trail no. 10). This is the most challenging part of this hiking tour. Arrived in Castelrotto it is only about 20 minutes back to our starting point in Tisana (trail no. 15A or no. 1).
Info: The asphalted road section with little traffic from Tisana to Tagusa is also accessible for prams.
