The villages of the Alpe di Siusi attract visitors the whole year round, as every season has its peculiarities
Spring
When spring starts in the Alpe di Siusi area, the mountains are still snow-capped and also the Alpe di Siusi-Val Gardena skiing area makes winter sports enthusiasts still enjoy skiing until April. However, slowly temperatures start rising and the sun rays are getting more intense. In the villages and in general, down in the valley, spring is clearly perceivable and the first heralds of spring sprout. Nevertheless temperatures are rather cool and mountain-like, that's why we also recommend you a warm jacket. On Mt Sciliar (2,563 m a.s.l.), snow might even fall in early summer.
Summer
Summer months are particularly pleasant regarding temperatures. When in the valley it gets too hot, you can enjoy the rather refreshing temperatures. In August, temperatures are often expected to rise up to 30 degrees and the sun is really intense. Sun protection and sun cream are a real must when you go hiking. In the evening, however, we recommend you to take with you a light jacket.
Autumn
In autumn, the landscape in the Sciliar area shows its bright side. A wide variety of colours makes hiking in this area an unforgettable experience. However, temperatures often start falling and also the weather starts getting more changable. You need to bring rain coat, warm clothes, but also shorts and t-shirts for the beautiful late summer days. Towards October/November you might even see the first snowflakes fall on the Sciliar massif and in the Sciliar-Catinaccio Nature Park.
Winter
The sun-drenched Alpe di Siusi attracts people in winter months, as there is also the skiing area, which is connected to the slopes in the Val Gardena and of the ski carousel Dolomiti Superski. It opens at the beginning of December/mid December. The temperatures fall under zero degrees, especially at night.
